Telecommunication Giants......in Nepal

Nepal is growing in communication sector. We can see a notable growth in Telecommunication, for a few years now.

Although, it might not meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) targeted at increasing teledensity. But, comparing telcommunication with other infrastructure development, it is growing at a greater speed, gaining popularity and quality.

At present, Nepal's total teledensity stands at near 27 per cent while the MDG targets to achieve 55 per cent teledensity in its interim plan for the year, 2010-11. though, the country's teledensity stands at 18.5 per cent the lowest in the South Asia.

Nepal Telecom is expecting a growth of 8.9 million in the next three years; currently it has 5.1 million subscribers. NTC's annual revenue is NRs 5 billion.

Ncell, part of TeliaSonera, the fifth largest telcommunication company in Europe, has 1.8 million subscribers in Nepal.

The net sale of the company is Rs 6.9 billion and investments of Rs 5.3 billion. The conpany is 2nd largest tax payer in Nepal that is at 3.2 Billion. As of March 12, 2010, Spice Nepal operates under the brand of Ncell, formerly known as Mero Mobile.

Nevertheless, if Nepal will be the top, or comes second, in the group, it will qualify for the Division III.

Process of qualifyinf for the World Cup:

Division III: 6 Teams - Top 2 qualify for the World Cup Qualifier.

Lets hope to see our country, Nepal in the Cricket World Cup 2011. Lets hope that we will be cheering for our own country Nepal rather than Australia, Pakistan, England, South Africa or India.

god of cricket..... Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar

If you think of cricket....?? What will first come in your mind...??I am sure it will be Sachin Tendulkar's name.
Ask a child playing cricket....which player will you want to be??? It will be again Sachin Tendulkar.

As the crowd erupted with unbridled joy, Tendulkar, tired but composed, took off his helmet, looked skyward, closed his eyes to offer a silent prayer.

The greatest accumulator of runs in the history of cricket, Tendulkar possesses nearly all major batting record even though he insisted he never chased milestones. His captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni came down from the strikers end to shake hands and hug him.

Over the past 12 months, though, Sachin has once again opened a yawning gap between himself and his contemporaries, and ensured that if at all any comparisons have to be made, they should be another Australian - Don Bradman, who was famously reminded of himself when watching Sachin bat.

Tendulkar, the world's leading run-getter, equalled West Indian Brian Lara's record of 19 scores of 150 plus. Australian legend Don Bradman did it on 18 occassions.
